Expressions Dance Company is acclaimed for its compelling brand of dance theatre and The 5th Door offers a feast of movement, music and text! Choreographed by Maggi Sietsma, The 5th Door is a new take on the classic tale of Bluebeard.

This gripping work focuses on Bluebeard’s young wife Judith as she learns the dark secrets of her husband’s past. Newly married, she discovers her new home is inhabited by the ghosts of Bluebeard’s former wives.

This high-octane physical dance theatre work is brilliant, full of haunting tensions and strikingly vivid visuals. The excitement and raw energy of the dance will have you gripping the sides of your seats. Expressions Dance Company is internationally renowned for their powerful performances in the U.S.A., Mexico, New Caledonia, China, and throughout Europe and Asia.

‘Strongly executed movement provides the cake, but it’s the theatre that is the icing.’ Olivia Stewart, The Courier Mail.

“Qantock is the master of comedy as social criticism” the Sunday Age
As a pioneer of stand up comedy, Rod Quantock has more than thirty years experience working in cabaret, theatre, television and radio. For an old boy, Rod is still doing extreamely well, thank you very much – and in September 2006 he will be doing extremely well here at the BMEC while on a national tour of Rod Quantock – The Annual Report. Rod’s show will be in City Hall in a very casual and very affordable cabaret setting.

Enquire at the Box Office for meal and show details.

In The Annual Report audiences can expect hilarious but tru updates on the current news and views from around the nation and the globe, brought to you by one of the country’s forefathers.

The truly remarkable thing about Rod is that for more than thirty years he has remained a contempory Stand up comedian, evolving and staying at the forefront of the craft. That he continues to build new, younger audiences all the time is testament to possibly the most impressive career in Australian comedy.

Rod’s uniquely wise yet wonderfully ridiculous brand of stand up has his audiences
in hysterics one moment and prondering the way of the world the next.

“Rod Quantock is still out best political comedian. He may simply be our best comedian” Herald Sun
