Mount Panorama’s annual land grab is well under way with campsites filling quickly. There are still great spots available in the Max Cameron and Reid/Sulman Parks.

For those who have booked sites in McPhillamy Park, The Paddock and Chase campgrounds, expect to find confirmation letters arriving in your mail box over the coming weeks.

Q: Other than the gate, where can I buy my ticket from?
A: Tickets are available for pre purchase through Ticketek or phone 132 849.

Q: Can I bring my own food into the Event venue?
A: Yes, a limited amount of food may be taken into the Event venue. However, there will be a range of food and beverage outlets throughout the venue.

Q: Can I bring my BBQ into the Event venue?
A: Only campers with a designated campsite may bring BBQ’s into the Event venue and such BBQ’s must remain, and can only be used, within the patrons designated campsite. The Promoter takes no responsibilities for loss or damage.

Q: Can I bring my own alcohol into the Event venue?
A: A limited amount of alcohol may be taken into the Event venue. No drinks in glass receptacles are permitted into the Event venue. There will also be a number of licenced outlets located around the venue. Any patron overly intoxicated maybe removed from the premises.

Q: What time will the gates open?
A: Gates will be open for 24hrs from Wednesday 4th October through to Monday 9th October.

Q: Who is eligible for a concession discount?
A: To qualify for a concession rate one of the following criteria’s must be met:

* Holder of an aged pension card
* Holder of a disability pension card
* Full time student aged between 13 – 17yrs with appropriate identification

Q: What is the cost for children?
A: Children aged 12yrs and under will be admitted free of charge, however must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

Q: What age do I have to be to go into the Paddock area?
A: Anyone aged 15yrs and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Q: What happens if it rains?
A: The Event will continue despite of rain, however, no refunds will be offered if patrons decide to leave.

Q: What banking facilities will be available at the circuit?
A: Tickets maybe purchased at admission gates by cash (limited credit card facilities available). Automatic teller machines will be located inside the circuit in Harris Park.

Q: What services are available for people with disabilities or special needs?
A: V8 Supercar Events provides a special ticket rate for people with permanent disabilities. There is also a viewing platform available for people wheelchair bound, along with a car park. To gain entry to this car park you must have the appropriate RTA (or equivalent) permit.

Q: Can I bring in my dog?
A: Animals will not be permitted into the circuit, unless the animal is a working guide dog. If patrons do attempt to bring animals into the Event venue they will be asked take the animal away.

Q: Can I bring my unregistered vehicle into the Event venue?
A: No, no unregistered vehicles or trailers will be permitted into the Event Venue.

Q: Can I bring fireworks into the Event venue?
A: No fireworks or explosives of any kind may be brought into the Event venue.

Q: Can I bring additional furniture into the Event venue?
A: Temporary foldout chairs are permitted, however, no couches or lounge chairs are permitted into the Event venue.

Q: Can I bring a structure into the circuit to make viewing easier?
A: No platforms or any other items that could be used to erect platforms are to be brought into the Event venue. Nothing that will obstruct the view of patrons is allowed to be constructed. V8 Supercar Events reserve the right to advise what is unacceptable.

Q: Can I reserve a viewing area by roping (or otherwise) off an area to stop others entering that area?
A: No. Unlike previous years, this practice will no longer be permitted as a result of additional Workplace Health and Safety requirements that are now in place.

Q: Is there first aid available at the Event venue?
A: Yes, there will be first aid available at the Event Venue. For locations please check the official program and big screens.

Q: What happens with lost children?
A: Any children who find themselves lost should make their way to the closest Police or Security Officer, Official or Volunteer. All Officials and Volunteers will be wearing an Official Event shirt and will hold appropriate accreditation.

Q: Do I have to allow my bag to be inspected at entry into the Event venue?
A: Yes, any person bringing in a bag, basket or other receptacle must allow it to be inspected if requested by an authorised person. Any person who refuses may be declined entry into the Event Venue.

Q: Can I bring my video recorder / camera?
A: Video recorders and cameras are not prohibited, however, it is a breach of the law to make for the purpose of a profit or gain, any sound recording, television or other recordings of moving pictures of any part of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

V8 Supercars coverage secures third straight Logie Award for Network Ten

08/05/2006: V8 Supercars Australia Chairman Tony Cochrane has applauded Network Ten’s outstanding coverage once again after the broadcaster collected a third straight Logie award for its’ telecast of the Super Cheap Auto 1000 at Bathurst.

Network Ten won the Logie for Most Outstanding Sports Coverage with the Super Cheap Auto 1000 from Bathurst ahead of the 2005 AFL Grand Final, Australian Open Tennis 2005, 2005 Emirates Melbourne Cup Day and the 2005 Lexmark Indy 300 (Network Ten).

“This award is even more important given the global presence of V8 Supercars and the Championship Series around the world,” Mr Cochrane said.

“In the Network Ten product we have coverage to rival the best in the world which offers our global broadcast partners and hundreds of millions of viewers an incredible television experience.”

V8 Supercars international television distributor and President of ActiveTV, Michael McKay, said, “To win Australia’s most prestigious sports coverage award for the second consecutive year, highlights the world class standard of the V8 Supercars Championship Series.”

The Logie Awards is Australia’s premier television awards night and is televised live right around Australia. Winning a Logie is equivalent to winning an American Emmy or a BAFTA (British Film and Television Arts) award.

The V8 Supercars are headed to Perth this week for the V8 400. The race will consist of qualifying, a Top 10 Shootout and three races, including a reverse grid
