While the Super Cheap Bathurst 1000 is packing up the porta loos and barricades are rolling out for Indy, a motoring event of a different kind gets underway, in Bathurst. esCarpade 2005 is a 3,000km ride, one way, for pre 1985 cars from Bathurst to Ballarat, in aid of one of Australia’s most loved charities, Camp Quality.

Over 200 officials and teams arrive in Bathurst on Friday, 14 October, before the start of esCarpade 2005 the next morning. A rugby themed fundraising dinner will be held at Skyline Room, Panthers, to welcome esCarpade entrants and officials with special guests, rugby legends, Mark, Gary and Glen Ella. Get comfy on the sofa, ask rugby’s most difficult questions and relive the 1984 Grand Slam with host John Kerrison, from Prime TV. You can be there and parley with the Ella’s or make a bid on some serious memorabilia in the silent auction by calling Panthers Bathurst to reserve your ticket on 6331 2455 now.

The next morning, the esCarpade official start gets underway in Russell Street. The seven day event kicks off with breakfast at 8.00am before the flag drops for another year at 10.00am. Get amongst the action and see plenty of hotted-up pre 1985 cars – the sort you don’t see everyday ! There will be lots of entertainment and an opportunity to see some familiar faces locked up in front of the Court House with only two hours to raise enough to buy their way out. Stay tuned for more.
